“Making deals with the Devil himself..”

Ascension was good and bad, depending on how you look at it. Yeah, she retained her beloved Bronx Championship and got well needed revenge on that scrub, Bam Miller, but it was also the end of Dynasty. Dynasty wasn’t able to last until the end, they failed in their mission to prove they were the best stable in Fight. Was anyone really surprised though?

I mean, it was a train wreck. Joe and Ricky were more worried about Sahara, Todrick tried but we knew she wasn’t going to really be able to do anything when it actually came down to it, which left her and P to literally fend for themselves, and each other.

What a disaster..

Not only that, but it just seemed like things were.. I don’t know, off?

Her thoughts are interrupted as her sweet baby boy’s cries almost echo through the car they were riding in. She reached over and rubbed his tiny little tummy with one hand while rummaging through the bag in front of her.

Pulling out a blue pacifier and sticking it in his mouth, moving it around until he latched onto it, she spoke softly to him.

“I know, baby.  I know you miss daddy,  I miss him, too. I can only imagine how you must feel, my sweet boy.”

He watched his mothers face, and slowly began to soothe himself, a few little facial movements resembling a smile as he watched her. She rubbed her thumb against his cheek and continued on.

“But daddy needed to go away, for us and most importantly for himself. He made a wrong turn onto a one way road back to the terrible place he worked so hard to escape from.”

She smiled at Ezra, looking at his sweet face – he was almost identical to Brandon, same beautiful blue eyes, same mouth and chin. She watched as he tried to focus his eyes, but it proved to be too much as those little blue eyes started to get heavy and began to close..

“That’s right my angel baby, you sleep tight. Daddy will visit you in your dreams for now..”

She relaxed, allowing her body to sink into the leather seats of the vehicle she was riding in. She let her head fall to the back of the seat and she let out a sigh.

She really did miss Brandon, he hadn’t left her side since finding out she was pregnant until now, but she knew it was necessary.  He wasn’t the type to just run away from his family and responsibilities unless he felt he really had too.

She had seen him slipping back into the things that had burdened and made him struggle before but she didn’t say anything. She knew, like all the other times before, that this was something he had to see for himself,  that he had to realize the problem on his own and so she let it be. Maybe it was her fault that things had spiraled this far, but it had to be his idea.

Strong willed, hard headed and stubborn people like Brandon are set in their own ways and don’t like to be told what to do. She knew that and she respected it. She knew this would be for the greater good, for not only Brandon, but for their family as well.

But, she has to keep her head in the game. Brandon is her husband, and yes she misses him very much but she can’t forget that she has a job to do, and that job is getting out there in that ring and defending that Bronx Championship that she held so dearly. That championship meant a great deal to her, despite what people might say, she felt she worked pretty hard for it – I mean, how many other bitches would climb a ladder at nine months pregnant to secure a championship belt?

Not only that, but she was having a good time beating everyone who tried to step up and take it away..

She jostled back as the car hit a bump on the dirt road. She first looked at the carseat and sleeping baby boy and then out the window, she hadn’t been to Parts Unknown in quite some time, but was slightly relieved to see that it hadn’t changed much. The road leading to the compound was a long and winding one, but every curve reminded her of being there in the past..

Her mind drifted back to family barbecues and celebrations with the Riggs and Wolf/Black family,  you know before she was exiled. It was always a good and memorable time.. like the time when Candice and Stellar got into an argument over who could smoke more Marijuana,  and Stellar got mad and tossed Candice’s whole stash into the creek so Candice put Stellar through the picnic table that Kal had just had specially made and imported from Japan.

And let’s not forget that the compound was the first time she met Brandon – the memories there were nearly endless..

No, we can’t go back, she needs to focus.. she needs to keep her mind on the task at hand. She had to get to the compound to do something she really didn’t want to do, but had no other choice..

Leaving Ezra with Jenna – ugh, she really didn’t want to but she knew he would be safe while she went on this Charity Cruise to defend her other baby. Jenna is a good mom, I mean, Allison turned out okay and she has been pretty much raising Luke and Layla for the past few months.. she just had to shake off the new mom jitters of leaving her first baby somewhere that she wasn’t.

Who the fuck is Jennie Fenix anyways and why does she even deserve to have a match with me? Why do I have to leave my baby to go on a cruise and beat some woman that I’ve never even heard of? We just give away championship matches now, I guess..

“Maybe I’m a little tired or maybe I’m just a little homesick, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what must be going through Xavier Black/Wolf/Fagans head. I get that we have to be inclusive, something about no man left behind and everyone deserves a hand out, but for fucks sake..

I understood allowing Bam Miller to win the bid to face me for the Bronx Championship at Ascension, because there was a history there. There was a need for revenge after what he put me and my family through, but I don’t understand this.

I know Xavier can’t control who does the bidding or who wins the bidding with this whole Blood Money system, but I mean, he has the last word right? He has too, I think? I don’t know. Maybe that’s why we’re on this Charity Cruise?

Yes! That has to be it! That’s the only reason anyone would think this would be a good idea. I don’t know, still it seems kinda suspicious.”

She shook her head as she looked out the window again, the car passing by the creek, where her and Brandon had spent many nights and mornings and she knew they were getting close.

“I’m not trying to be rude, or maybe I am, but I just don’t think that little miss Rainbow High is anywhere near deserving of stepping into the ring with me, yet. Yeah, she’s had a couple easy victories since she’s come here, I mean maybe not that easy- she almost lost to Enforcer,  how embarrassing for her.  I couldn’t imagine the horror of being in that close of a match with someone like him, but then again, they are in the same league and you don’t see him over here knocking on my door.

That’s the difference between a seasoned jobber and a new one though. The veteran jobber knows his place and is quite content in staying in his own lane, where the rookie wants to walk out onto the diving board and jump head first into the deep end and instead of floating and making it? Well this one’s going to find out she’s in way over her head and drown.

I don’t know what possessed you to step up and make the bid to challenge me, but I promise you, you will regret doing so. I don’t usually like to be the reason people leave this business and never come back, but well actually, yeah I do. But that doesn’t mean that I enjoy being used as filler on the card. That doesn’t mean that I enjoy being on the other side of the ring against a member of the rainbow haired goon squad – like, I think I deserve better than being stuck opposite of shitty Tara’s even less talented sister. I guess it is what it is.”

The car finally came to a rest in front of a large brownstone on the inside of a steel gate and cement walls. She looked out the window and took a deep breath as the driver made his way over to her door. Grabbing the handle, he pulled the door open for her and walked back to the back of the SUV,  opening the back hatch and pulling out two suitcases and setting them on the walkway.

Michelle reaches over, unbuckling sweet Ezra’s car seat before lifting his tiny body up and out of it. She placed him against her chest and he snuggled right into her, resuming his little baby cat nap. She kisses the top of his head before scooting towards the door and standing up outside of the car. She turned her attention towards the camera once more..

“If you’ll excuse me, Jennie, I have to go do something that will be harder for me than beating you at Venom.”

She walked up to the door and before she could even knock the door was pulled open. Jenna stood there, smile brighter than the sun.

“I’m so happy you called! Jenna exclaimed.

Michelle smiled at her, not as big as Jenna’s smile but she was trying.

“I’m happy you agreed to watch him.” She replied.

Jenna invited her inside and she obliged. Stepping inside the large home, she looked around and couldn’t believe it was literally still the same house she remembered from all those years ago, a few upgrades here and there but it was mostly the same.

“Allison and Dane are dropping the twins off in a while, maybe we can have dinner before you leave?” Jenna asked as she led Michelle towards the sitting room.

“That sounds nice.” She replied, still a little uneasy but warming up.

The two of them sat down on the large leather sectional in the sitting room. Jenna was ever so pleasant, the smile never leaving her face. She really was the best part of the whole Riggs clan, she just honestly wanted everyone together and happy.

The two sat in awkward silence for what seemed like eternity until Jenna broke the silence.

“Don’t forget to get a little relaxation on that cruise, you deserve it.”

“Pretty sure it will be all relaxation, my opponent isn’t even worth the space on the card.” Michelle said with a chuckle. “I really don’t even know why this is being sanctioned, but I guess even peons deserve a chance.”

Jenna smirked, she wasn’t ever really one for putting others down but she knew that was Michelle’s thing. As they continued to converse footsteps could be heard in the corridor, Michelle took in a deep breath, she knew who it was and she braced herself as he entered the room.

“Well would you look at what the cat drug in..”

He stood there that stupid smug look on his face as he looked at his sister sitting next to his wife on the couch. The three of them began to converse as the scene faded away.
